We Will Remember...

In 2022, Selena Carty took Ex WO1 Joseph Ashitey Hammond on a road trip to Takoradi for the first time in 80 where he left The Gold Coast (Ghana) for the first time as a 16-year-old young man, making his way to serve King and Country in Burma (Myanmar) during the Second World War.

Throughout the journey, we documented his memories and experiences in his native tongue Gã as well as English, aiming to preserve a piece of history and influence for future generations through the project named "We Will Remember" The project is to ensure the documentation of our elders so their stories and influence are not lost in the past and continue to inspire the present and future.

We focus on the histories and heritage of African/Black/West Indian/Caribbean/Pacific Islanders & Indigenous Nations contributions to War, Rebellions and Revolutions since the sixteenth-century to today.
